Rikutsu Kurasu – Indefinite Hiatus

Rikutsu Kurasu is shutting down in a few days; it costs money to continue to operate it with the modifications I’ve made to the CSS and such, and so I’m going to close the site without much fuss. I think this was an interesting experiment into the world of online writing and such, but it is no longer something I have to cling to in order to have a place online; my writing style has drastically changed and I take much of my time talking with friends now. After so long, I’ve found that I’m not really interested in appealing to the worlds of anime fanfiction – I’ll keep the site up through March, but after that… *shrug* Who knows? I may or may not come back… I’ll call it an ‘indefinite hiatus’.

My sincerest apologies to anyone who frequented the site; with that, I take my leave.

Anou… Ryuuzaki here.

I’m taking an indefinite hiatus from Rikutsu Kurasu and the whole world of writing. I don’t know if I’ll come back.

I’ve got a broken hand and apparently someone took offense to a piece of my work in real life, and I was penalised for it. How things work out and how much or little I want to come back will play a huge part in what’s going on right now. So if I’m not back by December, I probably won’t be coming back – I’ll leave Rikutsu Kurasu in someone else’s hands.

Anything that is published under my name until I announce a return is simply archived material that I’ve finally gotten someone to beta and fix for me, or old material I have decided to publish. There aren’t going to be any more stories, not for a while.

I’m really sorry things aren’t working out right now, I hope I can get back on my feet soon.

So about a week and a half ago or so, Ryuuzaki and I watched Moon Child together. I’d never seen it before, but watched it because she insisted, and ended up falling in love with it. We both ended up relatively inspired, and the dare to write a fanfic was made. I guess I finished writing mine faster, even though I started it later… probably because she’s writing a twenty-or-more-page epic, while I opted for this. It’s Kei-centric, and takes place before and during the first scene. I hope it’s okay, sorry it’s short.

ALSO. The word ‘Daijoubou?’ means ‘Are you okay?’ or something to that effect. That’s what the child Sho asks Kei when he first meets him.

Basically, you might see this drabble on fanfiction.net at some point, but if it’s somewhere else and not posted under either my name or Ryuuzaki’s, then tell her please!

Guess Who’s Back?

Ryuu-chan and I just wanted to tell everyone that we’re back and that we’re already starting up what’s left of our summer vacation with stories! Ryuuzaki [who is contemplating changing her online name to Takanori for reasons unknown as of yet] predicts that we’ll have new stories up as early as tomorrow! Not to mention that we’re both still suffering from the after-effects of not having enough sleep.

Out of Town, Out of Mind?

Hi there! It’s Ryuuzaki here with some… *drumroll* news! I know, exciting, isn’t it? [maybe]

For about three weeks, Rikutsu Kurasu will be more or less empty due to a rather interesting set of circumstances: [By ’empty’, I mean that many of the authors will be unavailable.]

Aina Kirisaki and I are going to a Chinese Immersion summer camp at Appalachian State University for about three weeks – we are leaving on the 16th of June and will return on the 6th of July. Hopefully, we’ll learn a lot there – I’m really looking forward to meeting new people and learning Chinese. We’re even going to learn how to cook, but… Between Aina and myself, we’ll probably manage to make the entire campus sick… We don’t cook. >.<

Mitora Yumi-san has gone AWOL for now, and we’re not sure when she will return, although I’m hoping that it is sooner than later.

Del’Cera Osirin Kusakurin may or may not be around depending on how busy he is. Between vacations and Xbox 360, we’re never quite sure if he’s busy or not. ^_^;

Miakoda-Hoshi is celebrating being accepted to college and graduating high school. Congratualtions, Miakoda-chan!

That’s about it, but think of it this way – starting July 7th, there will be a whole host of new updates for Rikutsu Kurasu:

–The Rikutsu Kurasu Forum
After long, arduous hours of labour that could be described as nothing but obscenely annoying, I’ve finally straightened out most of the CSS coding for the forum, which means that after I iron out a few more kinks in the system, I can open the forum to everyone! I think that it’ll be open by about the 10th of July.

–Working on Getting a Domain
We’re thinking about moving to our own server and hosting Rikutsu Kurasu on our own, although we’re not sure how that will turn out. This is iffy, at best, and there are no guarantees about this one, but if we get the server space donated by one of my contacts, we may be able to have our own domain!

–More Stories Brought to You Faster
As far as computer hardware goes, I know I have almsot 20 stories I haven’t posted yet. Aina has several, once she gets over being shy about letting others read them. Hopefully Yumi will return with stories in tow, and Del’Cera-chan is working on a companion piece to his story ‘The Tale of Three Outcasts’ after much begging on my part. He’s so lazy sometimes… >.<

We all try our best to create interesting plotlines and keep people reading, but it takes us a whole lot longer to get the stories posted when we have to check them ourselves for spelling errors. I’m sure that most of you know how hard it is to check your own work for errors… it’s nigh unto impossible!

So that gets to the point of this post – I’m looking for beta readers and editors. Anyone is welcome to apply – the more, the merrier, right? We can always keep the stories coming, and if you help us, we’ll even put your name in the story as the beta reader! So you can potentially be put up as an editor in one of the stories – lots of people will get to see your name across the board when they come to read stories.
